Total joins EdF on Dunkirk lNG project

Total will join French state-controlled utility EdF in the LNG terminal that it plans to build in Dunkirk, reserving regasifica- tion capacity and taking an equity interest. The proposed terminal will have capacity of 10bn-13bn m~3/yr, enough to meet a fifth of French demand. Total will take a 10pc stake, and 2bn m~3/yr of capacity at the terminal for 20 years, a company spokesman says. EdF had previously said it hoped to sell 2bn-5bn m~3/yr of capacity in the terminal to LNG producers, reserving 5bn- 8bn m~3/yr for itself and offering the balance to third parties (AGC, 11 February, p3).
