German futures VOLumes pick up

Gas futures activity on Germany's EEX exchange continued to rise in May, top- ping 1TWh for the first time, with EGT VOLumes again dominating the exchange's gas business. Total futures VOLumes rose by nearly 57pc from a month earlier to 1.4TWh in May. The exchange's EGT products accounted for the vast majority of trade - although one BEB futures contract traded in May, the first BEB futures transaction on EEX this year.
