A broad coalition of US developers, clean energy trade groups,and industrial electricity consumers has coalesced around aset of reforms to reduce the time and cost associated withconnecting new power projects to the nation’s electric grid.The group, called the Interconnection Cost ConsumerProtection Coalition, is pushing the proposed solutions as theFederal Energy Regulatory Commission pursues a proposedrulemaking (RM22-14) to address a nationwide backlog of roughly1,400 GW in proposed generation and storage projects.
