Floating storage plans emerge

Up to 12 storage tankers could be placed in the Kerch strait and Gulf of Finland to handle Russian product exports during the April-November inland waterway navigation season. Storage tankers to handle products delivered along the Volga-Don waterway will be placed off the Russian port of Kavkaz — not the Crimean port of Kerch, like last year — traders say. Banks might not issue letters of credit for Kerch exports, given that Crimean ports could be considered disputed territory after the annexation of Crimea.
