Surgutneftegaz plans expansion

Russia's third-largest crude producer, Surgutneftegaz, plans to establish a new production centre in Tyumen region's Uvat area, in the southern part of west Siberia, the Tyumen administration says. The company aims to invest around Rbs62bn ($945mn) in the region over the next few years to create its third production hub. Surgutneftegaz's activities are now focused on west Siberia's Yugra area, in Khanty-Mansiysk district - which accounts for the bulk of its production - and around the 905mn bl Talakan field in east Siberia's Sakha- Yakutia republic.
