REDUCING EMISSIONS Sinopec completes China's first megaton scale carbon capture project

China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation(Sinopec)has announced completion of the construction of China's first megaton carbon capture,utilisation and storage(CCUS)project on January 29,which will reduce carbon emission by 1-mtpa.As China's largest full industrial chain CCUS demonstration base and industry benchmark,the'Qilu-Shengli Oilfield CCUS'project is estimated to increase oil production by 2.965-mt in the next 15 years.
