Putin highlights gas priorities

President Vladimir Putin this week out- lined key priorities for Russia’s gas industry. He told a meeting of the presi- dential energy commission on 27 October that it is “essential” to con- tinue diversification of gas export routes, identifying Asia-Pacific as the key alternative to Europe, Russia’s established market. He also stressed the need to implement LNG projects to increase Russia’s share of the global market.
