Hard-to-recover reserves share rises

The share of hard-to-recover reserves in Russia’s overall remaining crude reserves is on the rise and has hit 65pc, subsoil agency Rosnedra says in a recent report. It estimates that of Russia’s 18bn t (131.4bn bl) of ABC1 crude reserves, 12bn t are hard-to-recover, meaning they are more expensive to develop than conventional reserves and require costly technologies.
