INTERNATIONAL oilfield services heavyweight Schlum-berger has been awarded a large contract to provide sub-sea equipment to serve the Equinor-operated Bacalhau pre-salt field in Brazil's Santos basin.Norway's Equinor is fast-tracking Bacalhau with plans to put the deep-water development, estimated to hold 2 billion barrels of oil equivalent in recoverable volumes, on stream in 2024.The Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA) - comprising Subsea 7 and OneSubsea - subcontracted Schlumberger to carry out engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the Bacalhau subsea production systems and flowlines.SIA is in charge of the entire subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines contract for Bacalhau and in recent weeks hired Nex-ans to supply the subsea umbilical system and Siemens Energy to provide a turnkey package featuring pressure sensors and electrical distribution gear.
