THE MANAGEMENT of excess nutrients originating from manure, sludge and bio-mass, and the impurities in cities' storm-waters, requires new efficient solutions preventing the eutrophication of waterways. Rainstorms are also, to an increasing degree, the source of impurities that impair the quality of natural waters. As a solution to this problem, Carbons Finland has developed hybrid filters with a simple mechanism. In ditches and drains, for instance, the filters gather excess nutrients and other impurities dissolved in the water.
