US crude stocks show surprise draw on weakened storage economics, production slide

US crude oil inventory draws resumed in the week ended Oct. 15 amid weakened storage economics and a downturn in production, US Energy Information Administration data showed Oct. 20. Total commercial crude stocks fell 430,000 barrels to 426.54 million barrels, EIA said, leaving stocks around 6% behind the five-year average.
