South Stream states’ united stand

Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovenia will take a unified stance in talks to recon-cile intergovernmental agreements cov-ering the South Stream pipeline project with EU law, Slovenian prime minister Alenka Bratusek said at a conference with Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev on 10 December. “Slovenia, as an EU member, must act in compliance with EU legislation, as well as all other members,” Bratusek said. These are the only EU member states that South Stream will cross. Serbia is due to be supplied by the line and is a candidate for EU membership.
