Mol tests Druzhba alternatives

Hungarian oil company Mol is expected to increase imports of crude delivered through the Croatian port of Omisalj this year, reducing supplies from Russia shipped through the Druzhba pipeline. Mol plans to take up to 20 seaborne crude cargoes, or 1.1mn-1.6mn t (22,000-32,000 b/d), through Omisalj this year. This crude will be supplied to its 160,000 b/d Szazhalombatta refinery in Hungary and 120,000 b/d Bratislava plant in Slovakia. The firm took only 15 cargoes for Szazhalombatta last year. Mol can supply up to 28pc of Szazhalombatta's crude needs through the Adria pipeline that runs from Omisalj. The company started importing Iraqi Kirkuk crude through Omisalj in the autumn of 2014.
