Gazprom’s gas exports to buyers in western Europe and Turkey were at their highest in October-December for nearly eight years, mainly thanks to a large increase in deliveries to buyers in Germany. Sales were up by 33pc on the year and up by 4pc on July-September, at 35.1bn m~3, the highest since January 2008, when shipments totalled 35.4bn m~3. Germany’s take increased by 15.9pc on July-September and by 16.4pc on the same period of 2014, reaching 12.96bn m~3. Deliveries to the Netherlands and France also rose.
