Ananenkov leaves Gazprom

Deputy chief executive Alexander Ananenkov has left Gazprom, a move that could boost prospects for more gas exports to Asia-Pacific from Sakhalin. Gazprom announced his departure on 30 December, without explanation. Ananenkov's contract expired in December, but he was not expected to leave before the Yamal peninsula's Bovanenkovo field and Sakhalin 3's Kirinsky field come on stream this year, given his involvement in both.
