Gazpromneft has struck gas while drilling for oil at its Dolginskoye field in the Pechora Sea. The firm received gas inflow of 1.5mn m~3 from a well it sunk in the summer to confirm commercial reserves ahead of development. “Across two prospective structures, we expected inflows of liquid hydrocarbons, but instead received a rather serious commercial inflow of gas and this puts into question our geological concept of the field,” exploration director Alexei Vashkevich told a conference in Moscow this week.
