Bashneft is expanding abroad, adding an upstream project in Myanmar (Burma) to one it explores in Iraq. The 841km2 onshore block EP-4, in the central Myanmar basin, will be developed under a production-sharing agreement (PSA). Bashneft is to take 90pc, while Burmese firm Sun Apex Holdings will hold 10pc. The Russian firm will pay a $4mn signature bonus.
