Crude gains lift RTS

Russia's RTS index climbed by 2.5pc over the week, closing at 1,391 points, after crude prices approached $106/bl, the highest level since May. Rosneft could benefit if former manager Sergei Kudryashov, currently Zarubezhneft deputy chief executive, returns to run Rosneft's day-to-day busi- ness, according to Uralsib (see p9). The bank says the former deputy energy minister's background should fit the challenges facing Rosneft, such as pre- venting output decline at its main pro- duction subsidiary Yuganskneftegaz. Uralsib keeps its "buy" recommendation for Rosneft, which closed at $6.46/share.
