Opec liftings this month are 800,000 b/d lower than in November after output cuts by Saudi Arabia. But more Atlantic basin oil moved to Asia-Pacific, led by strong demand from China. Saudi production has fallen by 750,000 b/d in the past six months, and there is little sign of a recovery this month. Saudi liftings were 6.9mn b/d in January, consultancy Oil Movements says, well down on shipments in the middle of last year when they were close to 8mn b/d. Total Opec liftings this month are expected to remain close to January volumes of 23.7mn b/d.
