Sinopec positive about Veninsky

Chinese state-controlled Sinopec is committed to commercial development of the 35.4bn m3 Veninsky block off Sakhalin island with Rosneft. The partners have this month applied to the Russian government for a gas and condensate production licence, Sinopec subsidiary SOOGL Sakhalin general-director Danny Chen told this week’s Sakhalin Oil and Gas conference, organised by Adam Smith Conferences. They plan to make an investment decision on the project in 2014, with a view to starting commercial gas output in 2017, Rosneft subsidiary RN-Shelf Far East general-director Lev Brodsky told Argus on the sidelines of the conference.
