The RTS index fell by almost 1.4pc again this week to close at 1,391 points, despite North Sea Dated rising by 86￠/bl to stand at $113.32/bl. Bank Uralsib sees some risk for Gazprom in the European Commission's investigation into whether the firm broke anti-monopoly rules in central and eastern Europe (see p3). The bank believes the investigation will take 2-3 years and could result in fines of up to 10pc of Gazprom's reve- nues in the markets in question. In the short term, Uralsib expects the com- pany to have to revise its capital and operating expenditure to compensate for a potential reduction in revenues from EU sales.
