Russian companies are scheduled to reduce pipeline crude supplies to CIS refineries to 361,000 b/d (4.6mn t) in October-December, a reduction of just over 30pc on the July-September plan (see table). This largely reflects a 41.5pc reduction in the allocation for Belarus to 243,000 b/d. Russia says supplies are being reduced because of maintenance on the Druzhba pipeline, but market participants associate the drop with a dispute involving Russian potash producer Uralkali (FSUE, 19 September, p3).
