ICL's results hit by 3-month strike

Israel's ICL recorded a rise second-quarter profit to $75mn, up by 10pc on the year despite strike action largely responsible for a 22pc drop in revenue to $1.2bn. ICL produced only 583,000t MOP in the second quarter, down from 1.25mn t a year earlier. Production losses resulting from the February-May strike at its Dead Sea facility were partially offset by increased UK output. External sales of 650,000t were just over half of sales in the second quarter of 2014.
