Yara posts record results in 2014

Global fertilizer giant Yara's expansion into Latin America led to a record 34.9mn t of fertilizer products sold in 2014, although total production fell for the frst time since 2011. The company's growth into Latin America — including its acquisition of Colombian producer OFD Holding and a 60pc stake in Brazil's Galvani — lead to 9.8mn t of fertilizer pro- duction in the region, up from 6.9mn t in 2013. Production in Europe (9.8mn t) and Asia (2mn t) fell slightly, despite lower global natural gas prices. Total production was 25.9mn t, down from 26mn t in 2013.
