A cool, wet spring has many folks still in the fields planting and pushing to get crops in this year throughout the Red River Valley. Meanwhile, NPPGA has been all over working hard on behalf of potato growers!Jacey Kuersteiner and Leah Halverson joined more than 1,700 exhibitors at the National Restaurant Show in Chicago, May 21-24. NPPGA was invited to be part of the North Dakota Department of Ag's booth in the American Food Fair Pavilion. This was a great opportunity to talk about potatoes grown in the Red River Valley to small and large restaurant operators! After a two-year hiatus, the show had more than 51,000 registrants. The energy on the floor of the tradeshow made it obvious everyone was excited tobe back together. The tradeshow featured new products, technology, concepts, and thought leadership in food service. As the restaurant industry ramps up for a post-pandemic comeback, regional potato growers were in a great position to spread their message.
