Gazprom-led Sakhalin Energy, opera- tor of the Sakhalin 2 project, has cho- sen Shell Global Solutions and Russian design institute Giprogazcentre to design a 5mn t/yr third LNG train. Design of the train will form part of a feasibility study that is due to be com- pleted next year. Sakhalin 2 plans to take a final investment decision on the third train in 2017, and to bring it on line shortly after 2020.
