Disruption in Mozambique could impact 60pc of the country’s daily thermal coal exports, Argus calculations show. Brazilian mining frm Vale has declared force majeure on at least some shipments of coking coal from its Moatize mine and the port of Nacala in Mozambique. The arrival of tropical storm Ana this week resulted in the closure of Nacala for several days and the shuttering of Beira port on 22-27 January.
