The fob US Gulf coast high-sulphur petroleum coke price gained another $4/t on the week to $134/t, its fifth-straight week of gains since hitting a seven-month low at $115.50/t in late August. The price has gained between 2-3pc each week since the week of 31 August, when it gained 5pc. Fob prices rose despite a rise in freight rates to major destinations and a stronger dollar, each putting pressure on buyers.
