Romanian refinery seizure

Romania's government seems poised to seize the country's 100,000 b/d Petromidia refinery as part of an investigation into owner KMG International, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan's Kazmunaigaz (KMG). The authorities sanctioned the seizure of up to $2.9bn in physical assets and stock in Romanian companies owned by KMG International, including the refinery operator, although it is not yet confirmed which assets have been seized.
