A bulk-modified carbon paste electrode (Ag-CPE) containing a new structurally precise Ag(I) complex, Ag-2(H(2)bbimb)(2)(pts)(2) (H(2)bbimb =1,3-Bis(2-benzimidazolyl)benzene, pts = p-toluenesulfonate), has been constructed and its hydrogen peroxide sensing performance was researched. The crystal structure analysis reveals that the Ag(I) complex is a dual-core cluster. The H2O2-sensing ability of Ag-CPE was studied by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry method. Ag-CPE was found to lead to a linear response from 0.5 mu M to 4.0 mM with a detection limit of 0.45 mu M, and has been verified to have excellent stability and good anti-interference ability. The results indicate that Ag-CPE is an efficient H2O2 sensor.
