There are reports of a minor pick-up in Indian ammonia demand but a more signifcant increase is now expected from mid-May following the settlement of the Indian phosphoric acid price at $715/t P2O5 cfr with 30 days’ credit. This is a rise of $35/t P2O5 on Q1. However, given the higher phosphoric acid price, it is possible that some local DAP producers may choose to import DAP over local production if import prices continue to be favourable.
