Orica to write down up to $1.2bn

Australian chemicals and explosives group Orica said it plans to book an impairment charge of between A$1.35bn to A$1.65bn ($990mn-$1.21bn) in the financial year to 30 September 2015 due to the downturn in the mining sector and the oversupplied ammonium nitrate market.
