Milliken & Company has acquired Encapsys LLC from the Cypress Performance Group. Headquartered in Appleton, Wis., Encapsys is a patented inventor of microencapsulation. Its markets include textiles, mattresses, home care, personal care, agriculture and carbonless paper. Encapsys solutions include cost-effective biodegradable microcapsules, phase change materials and fragrance microcapsules. The transaction officially closed Oct. 18. Terms were not disclosed. "Moving the needle on sustainability requires big thinking and powerful collaborations," said Halsey Cook, president and CEO for Milliken & Company. "Encapsyss expertise coupled with our ability ，o scale will propel our efforts to deliver sustainable innovations for our customers." As Encapsys integrates into Milliken, daily operations will continue without interruption, including relationships with existing suppliers and customers, according to the announcement.
