Consensus is that the recent downward slide in the sulphur spot market has finally come to a halt with most transactions now being based on prices close to$130/t fob AG and$150s/t cfr in most markets.Spot buyers targeting $140s/t cfr have failed to secure these levels,suggesting the price floor has been reached in the latest market cycle. This week PPL/India purchased a May cargo at$156/t cfr, and Gresik/Indonesia was close to finalizing a cargo above $150/t cfr.These prices were in line with Anglo American’s recent purchase in Brazil.
