The Platts ICE Gas Indices Americas, the North America contract averaged $7.84/MMBtu for the last four days trading dates (May 27- June 2), down 12 cents from $7.96/MMBtu the prior week’s average amid tight supplies. The GIA West contract saw the only gain week on week across all regions, inching up 9 cents to average $7.72/MMBtu amid rising regional demand. According to S&P Global Commodity insights data, total demand started around 12 Bcf/d on May 28, peaking the last seven days at the end of the month (May 31) to nearly 12.8 Bcf/d, and again slipped heading in to the weekend. The primary contributor to demand levels has been seen from the varying regional temperatures.
