Operations at Vale Fertilizantes’ Tiplam terminal at the port of Santos in Brazil have been halted after a fire broke out in a sulphur conveyor belt on 14 September. The flames were contained and put out within 90 minutes before reaching the sulphur warehouse and more crucially the nearby highly explosive ammonium nitrate storage facilities. No injuries were reported.
