The hopes of Chinese suppliers received a major boost this week from the large tonnage requirement specified in the Indian tender. MMTC is unlikely to be able to cover the 1.5mn tonnes required without buying Chinese urea. In previous tenders, Middle East suppliers have not been able to furnish more than 500-600,000t.
