The fob US Gulf 6.5pc sulphur petroleum coke price slipped below $100/t for the first time since June 2021, as sellers grapple with sufficient supply and weak demand from nearly all regions. One refiner sold a 6pc sulphur cargo in the high-$90s/t on an fob US Gulf basis, while a cement maker bought a cargo at a similar price from a trader. A sale to a Turkish cement maker also likely netted back to below $100/t. And cfr pricing in India has fallen to levels that require traders to procure spot cargoes at no more than the mid-$90s/t in order to preserve a margin.
