Mini engines of all sizes are becoming harder to find. Cooper andCooper S engines have been very scarce for a long time. 1275 non-S engines, once plentiful, have reduced dramatically in their availability, as have 850s and 1098s. Even 998s are not as commonplace they once were. This makes it all the more important to keep all Mini engines in good condition and, when the time comes for a rebuild, you should make sure it is done to the highest possible standards. Mini engine components that are not available new should be refurbished and saved wherever possible.
