To evaluate the feasibility and accuracy of continuous monitoring of drag with a fiber optic intravascular sensor in animal model. Methods: An accurate optical design was used to enhance the intensity of light from a 100-microon optic fiber and the fluorescence signal can be detectedThe vary quenching means the vary of the concentration of daunorubicin in rabbit's blood. Daunombicin is determined by sensor based on the feature fluorescence. In a simple animal model, the carotid artery was catheterized with a cannula housing 100-micron optic fiber. Results: The average recovery of all the tested compounds within the set concentration range was 99.9 ~ 108.0%, the within-day repeatability value were acceptable between 2.5~5.3% respectively. The method permitted detection limits as low as 0.05mug·ml~(-1) at a signal -to -noise ratio of 3. Conclusions: Fiber-optic sensor is potentially useful for monitoring blood drug and metabolites in biomedical field.
