In January, Japan exported just under 105,000t of sulphur, an increase of 20pc on January 2015, and 23pc month-on- month. The increase in production contributed to the rise in exports out of Japan. China took receipt of 91pc of the above volume, around 95,000t, up 30pc on the year. This is the second highest volume of Japanese sulphur received by China in the last 12 months.
