NIGERIA'S national oil company NNCC Ltd is taking a 20% stake in the country's debut floating liquefied natural gas project. The planned 1.5 million tonnes per annum FLNG project is being driven by Lagos-based UTM Offshore and its ambitious group managing director Julius Rone. KBR, JGC and Technip Energies are involved in engineering studies. A yard in Asia is likely to build the vessel's hull, although some work will have to be carried out in Nigeria to satisfy local-content demands.
