Urea imports rise in Eastern Europe

Urea imports into Central and Eastern Europe showed strong growth in spring 2016, imports rising nearly 90pc January- April, led by a surge in Romanian demand. Romania imported 251,000t of urea January-April, a rise of more than 300pc year-on-year. Most of the additional supply came from Egypt (78,000t), Ukraine (62,000t), Bulgaria (29,000t) and Russia (24,000t). The country imported 178,000t in the whole of 2015.
