Repeated annual health risk assessments (RAHRAs) followed by personal guidance on addressing lifestyle risks failed to reduce the 10-year risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in financial sector employees, this longitudinal study found1. It involved more than 13,737 employees with a mean age of 38-40 years. The study was carried out by Nceba Hene and colleagues at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. The annual assessments included questions on demographic information, medical and family history, smoking, diet and physical activity. Clinical and anthropometric information was obtained by a health professional.Ten-year CVD risk was measured using the Framingham Risk Score (FRS).
