China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has awarded a second batch of crude import quotas to 36 independent refners and trading frms. Beijing has awarded a second batch of crude import quotas for 2022 totalling 1.05mn b/d (52.69mn t), up from 705,000 b/d in the same batch of 2021. The combined quotas of the frst two batches this year are 3.2mn b/d (161.7mn t), up by 2.4pc on the year, and equivalent to two thirds of recipients’ full- year entitlements.
