US crop conditions steady amid growing dryness

US crop conditions were mostly steady for the week ending 19 June, despite a hot, dry weather pattern in the corn belt and Great Lakes regions, according to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). The warmer weather created drier topsoil moisture conditions for more than a quarter of the major growing regions' cropland.
