Poor crop conditions have conspired against the European MOP market, pushing it into a state of inertia. Farmers are suffering from lower incomes, and despite the general feeling that prices in Europe have reached a floor at European dollar 240-245/t fca - equivalent to around European dollar 230-235/t cfr - buying activity is muted. Buyers argue that there is little point buying now when they can buy in a few months for the same price, or possibly at a lower level. As a result, the market looks set to remain quiet for the rest of the month at least.
