At a time when the world is awakened to the decarbonisation challenge it faces and the gases industry as a whole is focused on both meeting that need and reappraising its own footprint,the Nippon Sanso Holdings Group(NSHD)has unveiled a bold new carbon neutrality strategy.The campaign,titled'We enable a carbon-neutral world'and launched on lsl April,builds on a number of big projects and initiatives from the group over the past 12 months.In fact,over the last six months alone the group has been stepping up its efforts and positioning towards a carbon-neutral world,seen across a variety of ways.Most recently,in February 2022,NSHD announced that both the group and Nippon Gases itself had signed the UN Global Compact(UNGC)-a voluntary effort by companies and organisations to pursue a'more sustainable'society.The UNGC requires all participants to adhere to four'areas'that contribute to a sustainable society.These areas are stated as:human rights,labour,environment,and anti-corruption and are underlined by a total of 10 principles.
