TWO GULFSTREAMS have performed steep approach demonstration trials as part of plans to certify the large cabin business jets to operate from the airfields with the Federal Aviation Administration and European Union Aviation Safety Agency later this year. The trials by the Gulfstream G500 and G600 took place in December. Both aircraft performed steep approach landings at London City Airport in the city's Docklands area and at Lugano and Sion airports in mountainous regions of Switzerland, demonstrating low speed handling and short field landings. In addition, the opportunity was taken to set new city pair records flying back to the United States from London City Airport.
