This study was conducted due to the lack of water quality data about AlQilt drainage basin. Twenty water samples from the five springs in Al Qilt drainagebasin were analyzed to determine their quality. Chemical, physical and biologicalstudies were conducted between November (2004) and March (2007) in Wadi Al Qiltdrainage basin. Based on physical parameters, the water flowing from the springsis considered as good source of drinking water. According to the results of SARand TH, the water is classified as suitable source for domestic, industrial andagricultural purposes. Results showed moderate levels of major ion and higherconcentrations of lead and cadmium than allowable for drinking water in threespring samples, whereas, 47% of the samples were contaminated with fecalcoliforms, which indicate the infiltration of pollutants in the recharge area of thesprings.
